Given our experience in modular housing, HTA was asked to implement the detailed design of Assael Architecture’s Greenwich Creekside Wharf as an offsite project for Essential Living.
We worked closely with modular supplier Elements Europe to develop the detail, with careful consideration of Essential Living’s brand standards and preferred unit plans, as well as the challenge of delivering rooftop amenity above the stacked, volumetric, apartments.
Assael were retained as Design Architect during the detailed design process and we worked together to ensure that the original concept of this important Build to Rent scheme was not lost in the modularisation process.
The scheme is nearing completion on site now and will, once ready, deliver 249 apartments for rent, as well as a new nursery, co-working space and residents’ amenity spaces. The scheme has won the Sunday Times Homes Award and will be the first purpose-built modular rental scheme in England.
