Oaklands House, Old Oak Common

Forming the western route into the Old Oak Common masterplan, the entrance is marked by two towers. A tree-lined boulevard runs north-east across the site, and a new green pedestrian street will ultimately connect with the Grand Union Canal. Brick clad buildings are enlivened by curved inset corner and projecting balconies. The scheme will deliver 605 new homes (40% affordable) and active mixed-use commercial at street level, including a nursery, health centre, workspace, flexible office space, shops and cafes.
