Thomas Fairchild Community School
The original locally listed Victorian school was destroyed by fire in 2009 and has been re-built through the BSF framework, creating a new 2FE primary school with crèche and nursery. The education vision saw the main school organised around a central multi-purpose ‘heart space’ and community use encouraged. Classbases cluster around a shared resource space on each floor allowing the teachers to support each other. Daylight & natural ventilation are provided with exposed concrete providing thermal mass.
